Biography
For over fifteen years, Matthew H. Haverstick has represented both Fortune 500 companies and individuals in a host of white collar defense, internal corporate investigations, and RICO matters. Matt specializes in representing government entities and public employees at the federal, state, and local level, as well as representing business and individual interests before government agencies. Matt has expertise in securing and analyzing electronically stored information (ESI) from complex computer networks as part of the investigatory or discovery process.
Representative Matters include the following:
- Headed a team of Conrad O'Brien lawyers in successfully representing the Senate Republican Caucus and approximately 60 individuals in the House Democratic Caucus in connection with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Bonusgate investigation.
- With the Firm's Chairman, Jim Rohn, was responsible for the Firm's on-going representation of the Pennsylvania State Republican Caucus in a wide variety of matters.
- Represented gaming company in grand jury investigation.
- Represented executive branch agency's chief counsel in grand jury investigation.
- Represented national supermarket chain in litigation against Pennsylvania Department of Health.
- Represented multiple charter schools involved in various federal criminal investigations.
- Represented state legislator in federal civil rights lawsuit.
- Represented newspaper reporter under investigation for wrongfully obtaining data from a law enforcement website.
- Conducted internal investigation at medical device company where accounting fraud was suspected.
- Represented medical malpractice insurer in RICO claim brought by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Insurance Department.
A frequent lecturer, Matt is often called upon by corporations to speak on-site to their officers on a wide variety of e-discovery and preventative litigation strategies. He is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section, serving on the White Collar Crime Committee and Public Corruption and Extortion Subcommittee. Matt began his legal career at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York City, later practicing for many years in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He serves as an adjunct professor at the Earle Mack School of Law at Drexel University.
